Our bespoke Shepherd’s Hut, beautifully hand-crafted in Wales by Black Mountain Shepherd’s Huts, is available for weekly, midweek or weekend rental (suitable for 2 adults only and strictly no dogs).
Included with the shepherds hut is your own private fully equipped enclosed kitchen that includes a three hob gas burner, small fridge, all crockery and cooking utensils, running water (outside), electricity along with spare sockets for your use and a cosy settee. The kitchen also has a small wood burner to keep you nice and warm.
We also give you the choice of inside or outside dining. One bucket of wood for the kitchen area and shepherds hut is included, one bucket of charcoal is also included, more buckets of wood and charcoal can be purchased at £5 per bucket.
The whole shepherds hut area has its own private garden area with outdoor tables and chairs that are exclusive for your use. The shepherds hut itself is all set up for you with bedding and towels so you just need to bring yourselves, food, drink and your toiletries and the rest is supplied for you.
If you would like any day guests to visit you while you stay with us, please be advised of the following: Day guests visiting you at Ynysfaen are permitted with prior permission due to number of people on site. The charge per person is £10, payable on arrival. Arrival time is 1pm onwards with departure by 8pm.

With only the two of us here to welcome you, accurate check in times are crucial for us. We appreciate traffic can hinder your journey so where possible, please let us know if you’re delayed, thank you.

Thank you Elaine and Duncan for another lovely stay at Ynysfaen, where it feels like home from home. Having had an amazing four night camping experience at this gorgeous rural idyll in June, we decided to treat ourselves to a stay in the shepherds hut this time. It certainly did not disappoint. Set in it’s own garden, with its kitchen/lounge annex a short distance away you are spoilt for choice on where to relax.

I couldn’t resist another trip to this beautiful, tranquil campsite! I stayed solo in the Shepherds Hut as a little treat to myself! Somewhere to chill, relax and read some books! The Shepherds Hut was perfect and very cosy, also having its own separate kitchen with everything you need, made for a very easy break away!

The perfect campsite is even lovelier since Elaine and Duncan took it over last year. We were a little nervous to visit in case anything had changed, but we needn’t have worried, it’s in safe hands and the ethos is tangible. The shower and toilet facilities are still the benchmark for all campsites. The Shepherd’s Hut is beautifully furnished, warm and comfortable and the kitchen facilities next to it had everything we needed.

We have handmade our own wooden kitchen area for you to rustle up your delicious meals while staying with us. We supply you with all cooking utensils, a three ring gas camping stove along with a fridge.

Dining areas
An indoor seating area is available along with outdoor seating and a fire pit and BBQ where you can sit and relax with a cold glass of something, while dinner is cooking away. In the washing up area we also provide a selection of herbs (when available) for your culinary delights or indeed some cocktail making.

Pricing
Shepherds Hut Glamping – £75 per night.
Minimum 2 nights (Bank Holidays – minimum 3 nights).
The Shepherd’s Hut sleeps 2 adults. (Sorry, no children or pets allowed). The prices below are for the hut, not per person.
Please note our prices are the same throughout the season. If you are interested in coming to stay with us at Ynysfaen in the Shepherd’s Hut for a longer or shorter break, give us a call, as we are happy to be as accommodating as possible.
Arrivals and Departures
Check-In: You can check-in between 1.00pm and 6.00pm on the first day of your booking. Upon arrival at the site, please check-in at the house.
Check-out: Please by 11.00am.
Payment
Full payment via our website booking system will be taken at the time of booking.
Other Information
There are plenty of power sockets available within the Shepherd’s Hut to charge any mobile phones, laptops etc.
There is no mobile phone reception or Wifi at Ynysfaen, which allows you to escape from the hustle and bustle completely, but a short walk up the hill will ensure you can catch the odd message or email… that’s if you want to be contacted!
We have a strict no noise policy after 10.00pm. We would prefer that you do not play any sort of music but if you do, please ensure that it is only audible for yourselves. Alternatively you can sit and listen to the river babbling away and some of the many birds that we have around the site. Please be advised that we do not allow any sort of “outdoor home cinema” set ups.
Terms
If you need to cancel your holiday before your arrival date and we are able to re-let your holiday, we will refund your payment less a 20% admin fee. In the event that we are unable re-let your dates, no refunds will be made. If you are concerned about the prospect of cancelling, please take out holiday insurance. Bookings are not transferable to another family without our prior agreement.
